The MAC 50 (top) was the official sidearm of the French military from 1953 to 1987. It bears only a slight resemblance to the MAB PA-15 (bottom). Internally, they are quite different. The MAC/MAS 50 has a locked breech with a swinging link attached to the bottom of the barrel, just like the Browning designed Colt 1911. |
